Gilligan welcomes €140K playground in Clondalkin & Rathcoole Parks

Cllr Trevor Gilligan has welcomed a €140K investment for two new MUGA’s at the swimming pool in Clondalkin and Rathcoole park opposite Avoca, including basketball net & court as well as soccer goal. SDCC has secured funding through the community recognition fund for two MUGAs (multi-use game areas) in Clondalkin Park and Rathcoole Park. The spaces have been designed to encourage active recreation while also offering informal seating areas for socialising in a safe area. These MUGAs will be an area where children, teenagers, and adults alike can channel their energy, make connections, and engage in healthy activities. I have attached an example of the type of seating that will be installed and the MUGA locations are identified below. Works are expected to begin next week in Clondalkin Park and thereafter in Rathcoole Park.
