Local Councillor, Charlie O’Connor, raised the question of progress towards the development of the Tallaght Heritage Centre at the monthly meeting of the Tallaght Area Committee. As a long time campaigner for the Tallaght Heritage Centre, to be sited close to County Hall, he is anxious that progress be maintained and this important facility be delivered on schedule.
Councillor Charlie O’Connor was given the following response by Council Management “EPIC Heritage Consulting Ltd are finalising a new narrative brief within the next few days which will allow them to proceed to the next level of the preliminary design plan. In the meantime, the Council continues to hold progress meetings with the Architect lead design team. These meetings allow the Council to work through design proposals and offer feedback on this iterative approach. The design team are expected to revert to the Council by late June with revised proposals – which will allow them to meet up with EPIC and develop the exhibition spaces to a level sufficient for Part 8 purposes. This will allow the Council to bring the plans to Part 8 this summer, with a contractor expected to be appointed in early 2024.”
According to Charlie O’Connor, he will continue to raise this issue with Council Management and keep the Tallaght community fully informed.
