Public Consultation on Lucan Village now open – Have Your Say!

Lucan Village Parklet

South Dublin County Council has launched its public consultation on their proposals for the Village Green and Main Street Lucan, in addition to their plans to upgrade Lucan Weir, Dublin Mid-West’s Fine Gael TD has said. Deputy Emer Higgins said, “Now is your opportunity to formally have your say on these plans. This formal public consultation runs until the 3rd of March and can be done online as well as by post.

“Late last years I carried out a local survey to gather public opinion on the proposals and the removal of car parking spaces was the main concern raised with me by local businesses and local residents,” said Deputy Higgins.

“Parking is also one of the key elements I highlighted with the Council when I met the Director in relation to this. “The current proposal seeks to remove 37 parking spaces in the village, and I would encourage all locals to engage with the consultation and make sure your voice is heard,” added Deputy Higgins. “You can view the full proposal including drawings and maps on the council’s website where you can make your submission or you can do so by post to Senior Engineer, Roads Construction & Design, LUPT, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 YNN5.

“I have asked the Council for an update on their proposal around a one-way-system trial in the village but my understanding is that there has not been any decision on it as of yet but I will be keeping in touch with locals on this,” concluded Deputy Higgins.
