The winners of that game will face UCD Marian, who received a bye into the quarter-finals. One of the most eye-catching games of the round sees DBS Éanna, who reached the Pat Duffy National Cup final in 2020, host defending InsureMyVan.ie Super League champions Belfast Star, with a quarter-final against Team 360 Financial Killorglin the prize on offer for the victors.
The draw, which was made live on RTE 2fm’s ‘Game On’, saw Garvey’s Tralee Warriors pick up a round one home tie against Tradehouse Central Ballincollig, with Moycullen awaiting in the quarter-finals, after the County Galway club received a bye. In the Paudie O’Connor Cup, holders Killester will play The Address UCC Glanmire in round one, with the winners taking on IT Carlow Basketball in the quarter-finals, after Martin Conroy’s side got a bye.
MissQuote.ie Super League champions DCU Mercy will travel to Team Garvey’s St. Mary’s in their round one game, with Leixlip Amenities Liffey Celtics the opponents in the last eight, following a bye for the County Kildare side. Newly promoted Trinity Meteors will play Singleton Supervalu Brunell in the quarter-finals, and Fr. Mathews will take on WIT Wildcats, after all four clubs were handed a round one byes.
In the InsureMyHouse.ie women’s Division One National Cup draw, which took place at the National Basketball Arena, defending champions Portlaoise Panthers were given a bye in round one and will travel to NUIG Mystics in the quarter-finals. LYIT Donegal, who are entering the MissQuote.ie Division One for the first time, will play Swords Thunder in round one.
In the Presidents’ Cup, UCC Demons, who are returning to the National League, host Ulster University. The three new National League clubs all picked up home ties in round one – Grand Hotel Malahide will play Ej Sligo All-Stars, Drogheda Wolves host WIT Vikings, while Kllarney Cougars take on Limerick Celtics.
