Tallaght Councillor Charlie O’Connor requested information on social housing in the Tallaght area at the March Council meeting, the request said “To ask the Chief Executive to list the Social Housing projects under construction in Tallaght and what he now considers the possible new completion dates and will he also provide the same information in respect of new projects and will he make a statement.”
The South Dublin County Council reply was the following “There were two projects under construction within the Tallaght area in Fernwood & Maplewood and St. Catherine’s (Catherine’s Way), prior to the start of Level 5 restrictions in January 2021, which resulted in construction sites closing. A third project at Whitestown Way with Clúid Housing is due to commence construction once restrictions are lifted. The three projects will have a total of 133 units available when completed. A revised programme for all construction projects will be provided by contractors once restrictions are lifted and a report will be provided to the Members accordingly.”
