Local Tallaght Councillor Charlie O’Connor recently requested information on the Dodder Valley Park Pavilion in Tallaght “To ask the CEO if he plans to open the recently developed Oldbawn Sports Pavilion, Dodder Valley Park Tallaght; will he confirm how he is promoting the availability of the facility to the public and local clubs; will he confirm actions being taken to prevent trespass and vandalism on the site and make a statement”.
The South Dublin County Council reply contained the following “The Dodder Valley Park Pavilion at Oldbawn, was completed in March last year. The planned official opening has been delayed due to the ongoing Covid restrictions. It is planned to open the facility once restrictions are lifted. In combination with this, the Council have been developing a Pavilion’s Booking system which will be launched once the Pavilion has been opened. This booking system will enable clubs to book this and other Pavilions to be developed in the future. During the development of this system an information evening was held with some local clubs and their feedback was used to improve the system. Further information sessions will be held when the system is officially launched”.
