Agri Aware’s AgCredible Academy supported by Alltech Ireland have teamed up with top performance nutritionist Daniel Davey to host an Instagram Live cooking series that will focus on preparing simple and healthy meals using ingredients from all food groups, supplied from sustainable Irish farms.
The AgCredible Academy, which was established in 2020 to empower farmers to tell their credible stories to consumers about how food is produced, is hosting an AgCredible Eating Essentials with Daniel Davey Instagram Live on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7pm.
Davey, who has worked with a number of top athletes and teams such as Leinster Rugby and the Dublin Senior Football team, is from a sheep farm in Co Sligo.
Davey is passionate about putting good food at the centre of people’s lives to achieve health and performance goals. Having grown up on a small farm in the west of Ireland Davey is a firm believer that animals should be cared for over the course of their lives and land should be managed and nurtured so that it can sustain food production for centuries to come.
The event will be hosted on the @AgriAware Instagram account and Daniel will be joined by Agri Aware chairman and dairy and tillage farmer, Alan Jagoe.
The pair will engage in a vibrant chat about simple, healthy breakfast meals viewers can prepare using sustainable ingredients, from a range of food groups that hail from Irish family farms and producers.
The conversation will also include a discussion about Daniel’s own farming background, sustainable food production and the link between nutrition and performance.
Speaking about the upcoming AgCredible Eating Essentials event, Davey said: “I am proud to have grown up on a small farm in the west of Ireland and to have been taught the values of good farming practice by my parents and grandparents. Through my education and understanding of the science of food production I believe we produce wonderful food in this country that should never be taken for granted.
“As a nutritionist I also believe that farmers and the public should look after their long-term health by eating nourishing food and getting sufficient physical activity. For this reason I have partnered with Agri Aware to help bring awareness to the importance of nutrition for health and wellness. I look forward to our upcoming events and engaging with farmers and members of the public from all around Ireland.,” said Davey.
Agri Aware chairman, Alan Jagoe added that Agri Aware and the AgCredible Academy is delighted to partner with Daniel Davey who is a highly regarded individual in the fitness, nutrition and farming spheres.
