Over 500 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Lucan & Clondalkin new Government data reveals

Covid19

569 cases in Clondalkin; 563 in Lucan; 99 in Palmerstown; 80 in Rathcoole; 67 in Saggart; 45 in Newcastle

New data from the Central Statistics Office reveals the devastation Covid-19 has wreaked in our local communities.

Local Fine Gael TD, Emer Higgins, asked Simon Harris in the Dail to provide more local data on the spread of Covid 19.

As a direct result, he has now released data by electoral division of confirmed Covid 19 cases up to 12th June.

Speaking on the release of the data, Emer Higgins stated: “This new data makes it crystal clear just how dangerous the past few months have been. “We have been living with the virus all around us. “Tragically, there have been too many deaths in our community. “This new data drives home that the virus isn’t just an issue for the city. It is an issue for all of us.

“It confirms to any sceptics that we need to follow the expert advice regardless of what village or town we live in. “The flow of information is our friend and ally in this pandemic. It is essential to bring people with us and explain why we are asking them to make such serious changes in their lives and bear with serious restrictions.

“This virus is now in retreat because of the actions we have taken. “We need to continue to respect the restrictions in place to keep our local communities safe
