“88 further units are to be made available for social and affordable housing following a recent council meeting. The department of education sources alternative preferred site for a school, therefore this land has become available for housing. The Department of Education has stated that they weren’t going to develop a school at this location as they have a preferred site for a future school adjacent to Deansrath Community College.”

“A total of 88 units will be provided on the site with 18 social homes and 70 affordable dwellings. The mix of residential units ranges from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bed houses, including two and three bedroom homes.”

“More planning is needed in terms of reducing traffic congestion, more buses & feeder buses. Residents are also furious that SDCC have removed a lane on the outer ring road hugely increasing time spent in traffic on the outer ring road. SDCC planners must take this into account when approving planning applications.” Stated Cllr Trevor Gilligan.
