4 Districts Day 2017 Rathcoole

Local Councillor Emer Higgins has announced details of the fifth annual 4 Districts Fun Day which takes place on Saturday 16th September in Rathcoole.

“The 2017 4 Districts Fun Day will take place on Saturday 16th September in the Rathcoole Community Centre from 1.30pm-5pm. To mark our fifth year running the event for the communities of Rathcoole, Newcastle, Saggart and Brittas we’ve some special additions to the popular line up including a choo-choo train for the kiddies and an inflatable obstacle course,” said local Councillor for the area Emer Higgins who helps organise the event.

“There will be lots of entertainment on offer for the whole family with everything from a fairground carousel, music by local musicians including the RAMS in Rhythm, James Hickey and Peter Gaynor, pop-up market stalls, magic shows, a toddlers area, a Dublin Civil Defence Fire brigade and Garda motorbike and horse, sports competitions run by our local clubs and a shows by Dancity and the Rathcoole Twirlers,” continued Higgins, the new Leader of the Fine Gael Group on South Dublin.

“As always, the attractions will all be primarily free of charge and monies raised through the raffle and BBQ will be donated to the 4 Districts Day Care Centre. We have a small organising committee who work throughout the summer to put this event together and I’d like to thank Neville Graver, Treasa Kelly, Christy McDonnell, Tricia O’Halloran and Anne O’Reagan who sit on that committee with me and do amazing work. The event wouldn’t be possible without the support of the staff at the Rathcoole Community Centre, South Dublin County Council, and our sponsors who make the day happen each year. Mark September 16th in your diary because this is one day you won’t want to miss,” concluded Cllr. Emer Higgins, local Councillor for Clondalkin, Newcastle and Rathcoole.
